杜卜勒超音波(Doppler ultrasound)

原理和杜卜勒效應(Doppler effect)有關。經由測量血流速，間接評估壓力差。又可分成持續波杜卜勒(continuous wave)和脈動波杜卜勒(pulsed wave)。另外若把不同的流速對應成不同的顏色(color coding)，同時顯示在2D影像上面，就是彩色杜卜勒(color Doppler)超音波(如附圖)。除了測量血流速外，也可以測量心臟組織的運動情況，就是所謂的組織杜卜勒(tissue Doppler)超音波，可用來評估心臟舒張功能。

 若RBC接近探頭：探頭收到的反射波頻率提高
 若RBC遠離探頭：探頭收到的反射波頻率降低
