被活化的Naive T cell會分泌IL-2以啟動下游反應：增生並分化effector and memory T cells及維持regulatory T cells的功能
IL-2的功能有：使T cell增生、促進AICD（Activation-induced cell death）、活化NK cell並增生、B cell增生
