A. 由於終止密碼（stop codon）突變：α球蛋白基因第142位終止密碼子TAA（mtRNA為UAA→CAA），使得αchain延長為172個胺基酸，多出31個胺基酸，使得合成出來的α鏈不穩定，易產生溶血（hemolysis）。
