Mostly, the superlative is presented as "am Adj +(e)sten" or "der/die/das Adj +(e)ste" in German. And most adjective is "+sten/ste". Just as the adjective suffix is "-sch, –d, -t, -tz, -ß, -z" ,it has to "+etsen/este". This way makes the pronunciation more easily. But there are some exception that just "+sten/ste".
List below is the adjective with suffix "-sch, -t, -ß, –d" but "+sten/ste" as superlative.

a.Partizip I:the adjective suffix is "end"
b.Partizip II:the adjective suffix is "ert、elt、tet"
The single syllable adjective and the vowel is a、o、u are needed to inflexion into ä、ö、ü.
am 形容詞+(e)sten
This form is usually used as sentence-initial.
Am leckersten ist die Schokolade.(Most delicious is Chocolate.)
der/die/das 形容詞+(e)ste
This form is used to narrate Nominativ noun(As the narrated noun is as subject.)
Die Schokolade ist die leckerste.(Chocolate is most delicious.)
